About This Concert

Spectrum’s 2026–27 season begins with the return of Spectrum favorite, 2022 Cliburn International Amateur Piano Competition winner Jon Lee.

Lee opens the concert with solo piano works before joining trumpeter Oscar Garcia for Robert Denham’s Transformatio, winner of the 2026 Spectrum Composition Award. Prior to the performance of Transformatio, composer Robert Denham will join us onstage for a brief conversation about the inspiration behind the work.

The program concludes with Beethoven’s youthful Quintet in E-flat Major for Piano and Winds, Op. 16, featuring Lee and an ensemble of Spectrum musicians in a finale that may just take your breath away.
